Hello friends, it is Courtney here today! My husband and I recently purchased the Ikea Antilop high chair for our baby. It was very affordable (only $19.99) and popular with our parent friends. We were inspired to do a little makeover to give it a premium look!

This is what it looked like before. It’s not bad, it’s just very simple!

Here’s everything we have for the high chair makeover:

Now, let it be known that I follow in my mother’s footsteps and I am not very fond of DIY. 🙂 But I thought surely this would be an easy DIY that I couldn’t have any problems with… wooden leg wraps They are basically stickers that you put on your legs! What could go wrong? 😀

Well…one day, during my son’s nap, I thought I could finish this project quickly. In my excitement, I learned that wrapping a long cylindrical shape with incredibly sticky paper in fact it could It will backfire if done too quickly, ha!

The sticker of my departure began to stick on my leg. *in ways it shouldn’t* but once it started getting stuck, there was no turning back. I would either wrinkle it incredibly and ruin it, or I would have to stop, cut a part off, start gluing it back together, and hope I could salvage it so it looked half decent. Somehow I managed to do that and now I don’t even notice the flaws (I just don’t look too closely and put that leg back, ha!). After that little mishap I figured out my technique, each leg became easier and the last one was PERFECT. Ha!

Anyway, I promise this is an easy DIY. Just watch the instruction video that comes, take your time and everything will be fine.

He footrest It’s a great addition. It keeps babies in an optimal feeding position (instead of wiggling their feet!) and helps them stay focused on their food and happy in their chair.

He cushion Helps support baby’s back and hips and keeps them in a safe position for feeding. It also helps them sit further forward so less food ends up in their laps! It is very easy to clean.

I am very happy with the result of this makeover! The end result reminds me this popular more expensive high chair. The original Ikea version really wasn’t bad to begin with, but I love that it’s now a cute piece of furniture that blends really well with the rest of our decor. I’m glad I did it!
